    Dear Greenview Families,

Welcome to the 2021-2022 academic year! I trust that you are having a restful and pleasant summer. I hope you are relaxed, recharged, and ready to start a new school year. I am excited to have students back to instill excitement and enthusiasm for learning. I am so delighted that you are part of our amazing learning community.

We will continue to focus on maintaining a safe and engaging learning environment in our school. Scholars will continue to engage in intervention and enrichment experiences for all students, engaging them in complex reading and writing tasks that will prepare them to compete globally as top scholars and leaders. In addition, our staff and teachers will be participating in professional development focused on instructional approaches that will inspire students to value learning, think and respond critically and creatively, and develop innovative inquiry-driven ideas and solutions.

The first day for students in kindergarten through grade five is Wednesday, August 18th.  The school day will begin promptly at 7:30 am. Students may arrive as early as 7:00 am. Please join our fantastic team of teachers for our Back to School Drop-In on Thursday, August 12th, from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. Included in this packet, you will find the following:

    • Your scholar’s teacher assignment
    • Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
    • Grade Level School Supply List
    • Richland One District Calendar

Parents are every child’s first teacher, and I believe that by working together, we can make sure your child’s social, emotional, and academic needs are met here at A.J. Lewis Greenview Elementary. This year, your child’s teacher will partner with you more than ever as we provide engaging instruction. It is through your continued support that students are successful.

We want this school year to be an exciting and rewarding year for all of our students. More importantly, we want all of our students to experience academic success. For this to happen, communication is key! Please be sure to check ClassDojo, our school website, follow us on Twitter (@greenviewelem), Facebook (@ajlewisgreenview), or reach out to your child’s teacher for any updates or events.

I have an open-door policy, so please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share. I welcome your input and feedback. Again, thank you for the opportunity to serve your families, and I look forward to a successful 2021-2022 school year.

    Sincerely,

    Dr. LaShaunda Evans, Ed.D

    Principal
