  • A Message from the Principal

What a joyous time of year the holiday season brings! As we continue in the holiday season of Thanksgiving, let us continue to count our many blessings! The holiday break officially begins December 21st and continues through January 4th. Although we look forward to spending quality time with our families, we want our students focused on “teaching and learning” while we are here. We have much to do in the next few weeks.

Next week begins our winter assessment of Reading and Math Inventory for 1st -5th grade students. Please assist us by making sure your child is rested, on time, and ready for school each day.

Ms. Smith, our music teacher is working around the clock to prepare our students for the holiday program which is scheduled for Tuesday, December 4th at 6:30pm. Please plan to come early to attend our Literacy Night which begins at 5:30. Please mark your calendar. You won’t want to miss this exciting event!

Thank you parents for partnering with us in assuring that our students are here on time each day. Parents, please be mindful that the last day before the holiday break is a ½ day, Friday, December 21st. The day ends for students at 12:00am. Breakfast and lunch will be served.

A gentle reminder that our day begins at 7:30am. We begin serving breakfast as early as 7:00am. Parents, it is very difficult for your child to have breakfast and get to class by 7:40 am if they are arriving to school after 7:25am. Our teaching time is very important to us and we need every moment allotted. Thanks for your assistance in helping to hold our children accountable and responsible for their learning!

A huge shout out to our students that took part in our Fitness Morning Run. We will resume the program in February. Thanks to Coach Hyndman, Coach Hayes, and Ms. D. Williams for their assistance each day.

Our Santa Shop begins on Friday, December 7th. We invite you to send funds with your child so that they can shop for family gifts. Nothing will be priced over $5. Gifts will be wrapped and, sent home ready for the Christmas tree.

Mark your calendars for Monday, December 10th and plan to join us for our PTO/SIC meeting at 5:30pm. Refreshments will be served. We hope to see many of you here. Your support means a great deal to us.

Please come in to volunteer whenever you can, we’d love to have you.

Together we can do great things!
