  • A Message from the Principal

Oh my!! What a great time we had at the Daddy Daughter Dance last Friday. Our Dads really showed out!! Pictures are in from our Daddy/Daughter Dance and they are gorgeous. Please be on the lookout for them. If you and your child attended the dance, be sure to ask her about it. Details with be coming home soon! Moms, I challenge you to do even better for our Mother Son Dance scheduled for Friday, March 8th.

As the days begin to warm up, parents I request that you please make sure that our students are wearing appropriate clothing, as some of them had gotten taller since school started last fall.

I don’t think the groundhog saw its shadow on February 2nd, so that means most of the cold weather is behind us. Soon we will see the Bradford Pear trees and Dogwoods blooming. That also means our sinuses will be kicking in. Nevertheless, I love the spring time! Daylight savings time begins in just a few short weeks and we will soon be into the last 9 weeks of the school year! Interims reports will be coming home with your child next Wednesday. Believe it or not, we are already half way through the 3rd nine weeks of the school year!

Ms. Smith and the students are gearing up for Black History month program, which will include a wax museum of famous African Americans. We invite you to join us.

Kindergarten registration for students entering 4k continues. If you have not had a chance to register your child, you may still do so. Again, the sooner we know our numbers, the quicker we can project the number of staff members that will be needed for the 2019-2020 school year.

Our Book fair officially kicked off on Monday and continues through next Wednesday, February 20th. We have lots of great books and neat items for our students and for adults as well. Don’t hesitate to stop and shop.

We are in the testing season, which will continue throughout most of the month of May. Please check the school’s calendar or check with your child’s teacher before scheduling appointments. Research shows that our students do better testing with their class versus having to make up a test.

Our PTO is in the planning stages for our Spring Carnival and we need your assistance. This event will be taking place on May 4th. Be on the lookout for information as we begin the planning for what we know will be a fun and exciting event for our boys and girls. Details will be forthcoming. There will also be a pageant and you will be hearing more details regarding the requirements.

Please come in to volunteer whenever you can, we’d love to have you. You are always welcome!
