• What is the IB Middle Years Program (IBMYP)?

Aligning to the IB Mission Statement the Middle Years Program is a challenging framework that encourages students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world.  The MYP is inclusive of all students and is a program of rigor.  Students with all interests and academic abilities are supported and benefit from participation.  Read more about the IB approach to the subject areas and the global contexts here.

The MYP is a five year programme with implementation in grade 6; students will complete the program in grades 9 and 10 at Lower Richland High School. Participation in the MYP will support existing IB Diploma (IBDP) and IB Career Programmes (IBCP).  The Lower Richland Cluster strives to attain the highest rigor and standards so that students are prepared to continue into the IBDP and IBCP, are able to earn college entry and scholarships, and be successful in post-secondary education while becoming positive contributors in a global world.  We believe the attributes of the Learner Profile align to the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate and thus students are prepared to be successful in the 21st Century.

Please contact MYP Coordinator, Yolanda Daniels at yolanda.daniels@richlandone.org or IB Cluster Coordinator, Michelle Peay at lorene.lloyd-peay@richlandone.org with questions regarding the program.
