•  A Message from the Principal

GilesWelcome to the 2022-2023 school year!  I am thrilled to welcome you back to school.  I am privileged to work with an outstanding staff to make it a smooth transition for our students during this uncertain time.  We are excited to work closely with you to ensure the success and well-being of all of our students.

We have been working hard all summer to plan for a safe opening of school and to implement best practices to mitigate the risks associated with Covid-19. As we prepare for our students to return, our classrooms have been modified to increase social distancing, signage has been installed throughout the building to guide students, and our schedule has been modified to allow for more time for mask breaks, hand washing, and opportunities to access outdoor learning spaces. This year, a stronger emphasis will be placed on social emotional learning in all of our K-5 classrooms with support from Mrs. Godfrey, our School Counselor.

Brockman Elementary School is such a special place to learn and grow.  Together with our dedicated staff, I strive to make connections with students to help them feel valued, accepted, and safe.  Whether we are learning in person or remotely at home, our goal is to encourage active student engagement to foster a lifetime love for learning.

Once again, welcome back!  Let’s make it another great year at Brockman together the “Montessori Way!”

    Warm regards,

    Mrs. Sharonda Giles, Ed.S.
