Special Education teacher Savannah Le invited Kindness Club members Caroline Winchester and Sophie Martin to be part of the small group that represented Dreher on Tuesday, November 15, at the High School Special Olympics Youth Summit at the City of Columbia Convention Center. They completed activities and heard from speakers that helped them develop a foundation to build, grow, and improve Dreher's school environment of #choosingtoINCLUDE.
One activity they all enjoyed was "Building Blocks of Inclusion." Carolina, Sophie, Makayla, accompanied by Instructional Assistant Ashley Harrell show off their Building Blocks of Inclusion.

Scenes from the Unified Spirit Basketball Game on November 18, 2002
Competing in the games were special education students from Dreher, AC Flora, and Columbia High Schools. Filling the stands were enthusiastic students from about ten general education classes. Pumping up the crowd were the Dreher cheerleaders. Ushering were NJROTC cadets. Assisting the Dreher players on the court were members of the Kindness Club, and students from Flora and Columbia High assisted their competitors. Refereeing the game were Katrina Sims and Chryssandra Hires. Keeping time and score were Dreher boys basketball players. Rocking us with his tunes was DJ Jeremy Vaughn.
Senior Class VP Kyerra Housey MC'd the ceremonies, beginning with our NJROTC presenting the colors and Raelyn O'Briant and Gigi Bartlett singing the National Anthem. Ty'tianna Miller recited the Special Olympics Oath with AD Coach Jarvis. Principal Kelley served as overall manager of the games.
The District reported on the game on the Richland One website.
