• Each year a committee of faculty selects members of the junior class to be honored with the "Junior Book Awards"  - books, certificates, and medallions provided by prestigious colleges and universities throughout the country.  It is a singular honor and a confirmation of achievement for a junior to be selected to receive one of these awards.  

    We are proud to recognize these members of the Class of 2023.  The description of the award was provided by the donor.

    Lillian Ammons - University of Rochester George Eastman Young Leaders Award for leadership and excellent grades in challenging courses.

    Patton Courie - Rensselaer Polytechnic Medal for excellence in math and science demonstrated by classes in biology, chemistry, and physics.

    Ana Creed - Smith College Book Award for academic achievement, leadership and concern for others.

    Muireall Dickson - Washington and Lee Book Award for exhibiting personal integrity and strength of character, academic excellence, and significant involvement in extracurricular activities. 

    Micah Elliott - Trinity College Book Award for outstanding academic achievement and leadership qualities consistent with Trinity College students.

    Samuel Kolowith - West Point Leadership Award for leadership, academics, athletics, community service, and citizenship.

    Truc (Susan) Nguyen - University of Virginia Jefferson Book Award for outstanding academics, leadership, creativity, and innovation.

    Bryce Outten - Yale University Book Award for outstanding character, leadership, scholarship, and intellectual promise.

    Elliot Scher - University of Rochester Xerox Award for Innovation and Information Technology for strong interest in innovation and/or information technology and a high level of achievement in this area with exposure to new technologies outside of school leading others to new approaches to old problems.

    Philip Sophocleous - Columbia University Book Award for skills of observation, analysis, imaginative comparison, rational argument, and respect for others' ideas, nuances, and differences.

    William Varner - University of Rochester Bausch + Lomb Honorary Science Award  for high achievement and rigor in science and math classes with a positive contribution to the school and community.

    Alilah Wolfe - University of Rochester Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony Award for leadership, interest in social issues, and achievement in humanities and social science.
