Forest Heights Library Mission Statement
The Forest Heights Elementary Library is committed to creating a community of life-long readers and informed digital citizens who can develop information literacy skills as 21st century learners. The library aims to be a space where students, teachers and parents can gain knowledge for today's ever-changing world. Our library is an environment where students can have access to books, digital resources and research materials.
Hours
The library is open from 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.
Check-Out Procedures
Pre-K, Kindergarten,1st Grade- One book
2nd Grade-two books
3rd-5th Grade-Three Books
Books are due back every 2 weeks.
Lost, Damaged or Overdue Books
If a student loses a book, they are responsible for paying the fee at the end of the school year. If a book is damaged, the library staff will do their best to repair it, but if it is beyond repair, the student will have to pay for the cost of the book. There are no fines for overdue books, just make sure to return them on time!
Library Schedule
The FHES library operates on a semi-flexible schedule, meaning the lower grades (PreK-2nd) meet for fixed times to have storytime and checkout. The upper grades (3-5) can schedule times to come and use the resources of the library/check out books at the time that is best for them.
