  • 2024 Career and Technical Education (CTE) Summer Camp - Middle School (Career Exploration) APPLICATION

The one-week summer camp for middle school students will highlight the areas of career exploration. Students will work in small groups with certified teachers to develop an understanding of career pathways through hands-on experiments. These experiments will allow students to work in the construction technology lab, culinary arts workstation, media technology center, automotive technology, health science, and so much more. Character education and employability skills will be implemented throughout the week to instill values of respect, teamwork, responsibility, and critical thinking. This is not just a camp to keep students busy, but an opportunity for students to develop interest in the various career pathways offered in Richland One high schools. Camp information: June 10 - 13, 2024 (8:00 am - 3:00 pm).

  • Crayton Band

Congratulations to Mr. Byrd and the Crayton Bands. The Band was awarded the Outstanding Performance Award after completing their performances at the SCBDA Solo and Ensemble Performance Assessment.

The Outstanding Performance Award (OPA) is the most prestigious award that the South Carolina Band Directors Association (SCBDA) gives each year to South Carolina band programs. School band programs must perform at a very high level in various SCBDA events including All-State Band, Region Band, Jazz Performance Assessment, Concert Performance Assessment, and Solo and Ensemble Festival to earn enough points to be recognized as one of the top bands in the state.

  • Crayton Band

Congratulations to our Crayton Jazz Band.  The Jazz Band participated in the South Carolina Band Directors Association (SCBDA) Jazz Performance Assessments (JPA) on Friday, March 1, 2024. A panel of 3 judges rated the bands 1-5 in various categories, looking for key indicators of superior performance. Each judge’s score was averaged and then added to get the overall rating. The band received a rating of Superior with Distinction, which is the highest rating given.
