Last August, none of us would have predicted that the 2019-2020 school year would end the way it did, with our students going home on March 13 and not returning to school for the remainder of the year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now, we face the challenge of preparing for a new school year while COVID-19 is still very much a reality. As we consider our options, the health and safety of our students and staff are our priorities. We will continue to monitor updates and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) and the S.C. Department of Education.
We recognize that this is a time of uncertainty and anxiety for our students, parents and staff. We promise to keep you informed as we plan for the 2020-2021 year. Our ReStart Strong web page will be updated as decisions are made and plans are finalized.
Thank you for your continued support, understanding and cooperation. We are Richland One Strong!
Craig Witherspoon, Ed.D.
