I am humbly grateful and eagerly excited to introduce myself as the new principal of The Logan Elementary. I am honored to join Richland One School District, and I look forward to serving the students and families of the Logan Community.
I have been dedicated to education for the past 14 years. I started my career as a 4th grade math and science teacher in Florence School District 1. Prior to my principalship, I served as assistant principal at McLaurin Elementary School (Montessori and Traditional curriculum) for 3 years. I am a recipient of a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Francis Marion University and a Master of Arts in Education Administration from Cambridge College in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Additionally, I have received an endorsement for completion of the South Carolina Department of Education's Transformational Leadership Academy (SCTLA). I look forward to bringing all that I have experienced and learned with me to your wonderful community.
Lastly, just to share a little about myself, I am a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated. In my spare time, you can find me coaching my son's little league team, spending time with family and friends, working out, or reading a good book. One of my favorite quotes is “If it does not challenge you, it will not change you, and if you are not changing then you are not growing”.
I am excited about my continuous growth and I will work tirelessly to ensure ALL your children have the best possible experience at Logan Elementary School.
Best Regards,
David Copeland Jr.
