• Why Pre-K?

    Richland County School District One's Prekindergarten Program Provides:

    • Access to learning opportunities that support social, emotional, and academic success for learners.
    • Opportunities for learning through play and social interactions to develop well-rounded learners.
    • Exposure to a reliable and viable curriculum, supporting a progression of learning that enhances cognitive, physical, social, and emotional domains.
    • Engaging and certified teachers passionate about teaching and learning.

    We offer free PreKindergarten for 3- and 4-year-olds. The program is voluntary, and space is limited.

    3K (3-Year-Olds)

    • Child must be 3 years old by September 1, 2021
    • Only offered at Gadsden Elementary
    • Open to Richland One families able to provide transportation

    4K (4-Year-Olds)

    • Child must be 4 years old by September 1, 2021
    • Offered through your child’s zoned school (see school list for details)

  • The Office of School Readiness and Prekindergarten Programs is located in the shopping center on the corner of Two Notch Rd. and Covenant Rd. We are at the end of the shopping center farthest from Two Notch Rd. and across the street from the Adult Education Center.
