The purpose of the Office of Safe Schools Climate is to support comprehensive prevention programs that: (1) prevent violence in and around schools; (2) prevent illicit alcohol, tobacco, and drug use; (3) involve parents and communities; and (4) coordinate with related federal, state, and local efforts to foster safe and drug-free schools and communities as required by the Principles of Effectiveness.
The Office of Safe Schools Climate funded programs are coordinated with other available prevention efforts to maximize the impact of violence prevention programs and resources available to the local educational agencies (LEA) and communities.
Funded by the U.S. Department of Education Office of Safe and Healthy Students.
