The Richland County School District One CATE Department supports and oversees all aspects of CATE local, state, and federal regulations and policies.
CATE programs afford students the opportunity to receive college credit, state and nationally recognized industry certifications, internships, technical skills, infused academics, leadership skills and participation in student organizations and technical honor societies.
The CATE Department is dedicated to making the 2017-2018 school year one of the best for our students, their parents, our teachers, and Richland One!

Remote-Control Car Racing Competition
CATE students from North Carolina, Alabama, and South Carolina participated in a remote-control car racing competition held at Lower Richland High School on Fridfay, November 3. CLICK HERE to view the news coverage of this event captured by the WLTX news team!
Congratulations, FCS Students at Eau Claire High School!
The Family & Consumer Sciences classes at Eau Claire High School have been working very hard this school year. This year 41 students entered items into the SC State Fair competition, and Eau Claire had 14 winners! There were 5, 1st place, winners and 9, 2nd place, winners. Career Adventure Bus
Are you ready for an adventure? Hop on the Career Adventure Bus (CAB) to explore the fantastic courses and programs that Richland One has to offer our students. The CAB will be making its' way out to middle and elementary schools this year.
New Firefighter Program at Lower Richland High
The CATE Department is excited to launch a new Firefighter program at Lower Richland High School this year. The Columbia Fire Department hosted a press conference during the fire truck donation ceremony that took place on August 9, 2017.
