Explanation |
1 |
New or additional hardware or software need identified by teacher, administrator, principal, etc. |
2 |
Initiator goes to TLC website (http://www.richlandone.org/tlc/index.htm) and downloads a Request for Electronic Resource Review (for software) or Hardware/Equipment Plan (for equipment). Initiator completes the form and emails it to Renee Matthews (CAO@richlandone.org).
3 |
If the request is for new equipment or software, C&I evaluates the new software or equipment and approves it for use instructionally. C&I will determine if the implementation plan is sufficient to use the technology appropriately. If the request is for additional purchases of equipment or software already in use, C&I will determine if the implementation plan is sufficient to use the technology appropriately. |
At the conclusion of the C&I evaluation, C&I notifies initiator of the test results (pass or fail). |
Initiator receives status of instructional test. |
If the equipment or software passes the instructional test, C&I will send the signed request form to the IT Department, Chanta McCoy, cmccoy@richlandone.org, 231-7424. |
The IT Department conducts a technical test to determine if the equipment or software will work in our environment or schedules site surveys to determine total installation costs. (The specific steps of the Technical Test are spelled out in another document.) At the conclusion of the Technical Test/Site Survey, the initiator is provided with a complete and accurate cost estimate. (The cost estimate prepared at initiation may be lower than actual cost due to additional data or electrical costs discovered during the Site Survey.)
At the conclusion of the Technical Test, IT notifies initiator of the test results (pass or fail). |
If the equipment or software passes the instructional test, the Executive Director of IT signs the forms and the item is added to the next TLC meeting agenda. |
The request is considered at the TLC meeting. |
Following the TLC meeting, the initiator is notified of the TLC decision (pass or fail) |
If the equipment or hardware is approved by the TLC, it is added to the approved technology list. |
If the equipment or software is approved by the TLC, the TLC Chairperson signs the forms and sends them to the initiator. |
The initiator submits appropriate requisitions and signed forms to Procurement. |
The proper procurement action occurs. |
