Richland One is hiring school bus drivers and bus monitors for the 2017-2018 school year and offering signing bonuses to qualified applicants.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma and pass rigorous South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) background checks. More details about the classroom training, on-the-road training and other training requirements and assessments are available on the district’s website, www.richlandone.org. A signing incentive bonus will be available to bus driver applicants who are already certified and have a Class B Commercial Driver's License with passenger and school bus endorsements. Qualified applicants who do not have the Class B Commercial Driver’s License will receive pay while they go through the license training process.
“We believe in hiring the best and then training them to be even better,” said Kathy Joye, director of Richland One’s Office of Student Transportation Services. “Bus drivers and bus monitors are key to our students’ success. We are focused on the safety of our students and dedicated to properly training and preparing the professionals on our transportation team.”
