	Mrs. Wendy C. Brawley, Chairwoman Mrs. Wendy C. Brawley is publisher and CEO of Imara Woman Magazine and founder and president of Events Unlimited, Inc., a conference planning and events management company. She is married and has two children. A graduate of USC, she received a master’s degree in business management from Webster University. As board chairwoman, Wendy Brawley serves as an ex-officio member of all three board committees. 	Vince Ford, Vice Chairman Vince Ford, the board's Vice Chairman, is the vice president for community services at the Palmetto Health Alliance. He is married and has two children. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, chess and horseback riding. He has been awarded the All-State School Board Member and National School Boards Association Distinguished School Board Member designations. He holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from Benedict College and a master’s degree in individual and family development from S.C. State University. He chairs the board's Administration Committee. 	Mrs. Jeanette McBride, Secretary-Treasurer Mrs. Jeanette McBride, the board's secretary-treasurer, is a retired graphics communications teacher. 	Rob Tyson Rob Tyson is an attorney with Sowell Gray Stepp & Laffitte, LLC. He is married and the proud father of four wonderful daughters. He is an active member of Shandon United Methodist Church. 	King B.L. Jeffcoat King B.L. Jeffcoat is a retired Richland One administrator. He also served 40 years in the military, retiring as Command Sergeant Major of the U.S. Army Reserve's 3282nd Army Reserve School. Jeffcoat is a member of the board's Administration Committee. He received a bachelor’s degree in math from Benedict College and a master’s in math and administration from Atlanta University. He is married and has a son. A sports enthusiast, Jeffcoat enjoys football, baseball, softball, track, reading, dancing, walking and lawn care. 	Dr. Jasper Salmond Dr. Jasper Salmond, senior board member, is former vice president and marketing coordinator (retired) for Wilbur Smith Associates, past president of the S.C. School Boards Association, Investment Advisory chair of the Palmetto Health Alliance Board and a member of the S.C. Robotics Board, among other civic and professional affiliations. He has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Benedict College and a master’s degree in educational supervision and administration from Teachers College, Columbia University. He has achieved Level VI in the SCSBA Boardmanship Institute twice. He represents Election District I, which is an area west of Broad River Road up to Harbison and extends to the Fairfield County line. It includes St. Andrews, Eau Claire, Greenview, Meadowlake, Lincolnshire, Summerhill, Monticello and Fairlawn. His term expires in 2010. 	Dwayne Smiling, Parliamentarian Dwayne Smiling is Special Assistant for Governmental Affairs and Campaign Coordinator for The College Fund/UNCF at Benedict College. He graduated from Benedict with a degree in broadcast journalism. He is married and has one daughter. He chairs the Curriculum and Instruction Committee. He represents Election District 4 , which extends from the Sumter County line into the City of Columbia, including all of lower Richland County and Olympia. His term expires in 2008.
