will identify the letter of the alphabet that objects or
pictures begin with as the teacher shows the objects or
pictures to them.

Instructional Activity
Teacher
will assign letters of the alphabet to students and send
letters home asking parent to send objects beginning
with their child's letters to school to be used in a
slide show. Teacher will also collect extra objects for
those students who do not bring any from home.
Teacher
will use digital camera and take pictures of 3 or 4
students holding objects for each letter of the
alphabet.
Working
with small groups of students and a computer program
such as Kidpix, the teacher will use the digital photos
to create a computer slide show for the letters of the
alphabet.
The
slide show will be available for children to view
whenever they go to the computer center.
At
the end of several weeks, the teacher will assess
student progress in associating beginning sounds and
letters.
