1) Core Curriculum: Write letters, advertisements, notes, reminders, directions, signs and warnings which relate to real issues at school or in the community. (3-WA-6)

Grade Level: Three     Subject: Language Arts

2) Overview: The students will write letters to the President and First Lady via e-mail system.

3) Focus Question:  How do we write a letter?

4) Time Frame:   Two 1-hour class periods
