Teacher will distribute the CLOZE procedure form. The teacher may choose to divide the activity up between the groups, giving each group a different part. The length of the activity would depend on the ability of the class.

Students will be instructed to work in their group to identify the missing vocabulary words. Once they have come to a consensus about the word they can write it on the line. Before writing the word they should check to see if it makes sense in the sentence.

The teacher will circulate around the room to check for understanding. The teacher will offer hints to the word's identity without giving the word.

While all groups are finishing, the groups that have finished can share to see how their answers compare. When all groups have completed, students will help the teacher complete the procedure on the overhead projector. Students will help the teacher check to see if the sentences make sense in the sentences.
