Immunization

All students are required to be immunized against diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus and polio. Children entering CD, K-12 are required to have a second measles (MMR) immunization. Hepatitis B (HBV) is required for all students entering grades CD, K, 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9 and 10. The HBV immunization is a series of three shots over four to six months. Varicella vaccine or positive history of disease is required for children admitted five-year-old kindergarten and first grade.

If your child is transferring from an out-of-state school, his or her health certificate information must be on a South Carolina form, according to state law. You may take your out-of-state certificate to a doctor or clinic in South Carolina and have the previous information transferred to the South Carolina form. For additional immunization information, please contact the school nurse.
