Immunization
All
students are required to be immunized against
diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus and
polio. Children entering CD, K-12 are required
to have a second measles (MMR) immunization.
Hepatitis B (HBV) is required for all students
entering grades CD, K, 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8,
9 and 10. The HBV immunization is a series
of three shots over four to six months.
Varicella vaccine or positive history of
disease is required for children admitted
five-year-old kindergarten and first grade.
If
your child is transferring from an out-of-state
school, his or her health certificate information
must be on a South Carolina form, according
to state law. You may take your out-of-state
certificate to a doctor or clinic in South
Carolina and have the previous information
transferred to the South Carolina form.
