Most elementary schools have after-school care programs located at the school. Programs are operated by licensed child-care providers approved by the district.

Programs operate from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. A fee is charged for these programs. Scholarships are available for needy students.

Other agencies, including churches and private day-care centers, also provide before- and after-school care. Students may be able to ride the school bus to these programs in their attendance zone or may be picked up at school.
