CONTACT YOUR SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST IF...

  • A student seems significantly delayed cognitively when considering his chronological age.
  • A student seems quite bright but is failing academically.
  • A student reports plan or thoughts of suicide or homicide.
  • A student seems to be having hallucinations or other signs of a psychotic break.
  • A student has had recent head trauma and academics begin to plummet.
  • Parents report that a student is having difficulty with sleeping, eating, and withdrawal from family. Similar signs are evident in school.
  • A student has experienced the sudden loss of someone close to him and is having trouble coping.
  • Community mental health service providers are treating a student and these services need coordination with school personnel.
  • A student reports having been sexually molested by someone at school or in the home.
  • A student seems overly fearful of adults.
  • A student is fearful of coming to school. He may repeatedly cry or run away from the school when left by the parent.
