Description: Child Protective Services is the state agency serving Richland County. 
They will take reports of suspected abuse and neglect cases 24 hours a day. They will 
need to know the address and allegations. This service is CONFIDENTIAL. 
Investigations will begin within 24 hours of a report of abuse or neglect.

Description: Prevent Child Abuse SC is a private, non-profit organization serving all 
of South Carolina. This program is a referral and resource service for the prevention 
of child abuse that offers support group referrals and substance abuse prevention as

Description: This is an intervention program of intensive home visitation serving the 
Midlands. Parent Aides are professionals trained to work closely with individual 
families to promote healthy, appropriate, and stable family functioning in abusive, 
neglected, and/or high-risk families. Through weekly home visits and round the clock 
availability for crises, Parent Aides provide the education and support necessary to 
maintain family stability. Service co-ordination is provided through 
multidisciplinary treatment teams. Self-referrals are accepted and all services are 
free.

Description: The Nurturing Center provides services to families and strives to 
nurture trusting, caring relationships between adults and children to help prevent, 
treat, and break the cycle of child abuse and neglect for children and their 
families. Services are free or paid through scholarships. This agency serves the 
Midlands. Services include: Home based services, individual family service plans, 
center based services for children and parents, case management and interagency 
collaboration, follow-up services, and a teen parenting program.
