4 X 4 BLOCK SCHEDULING

All Richland One high schools follow the 4x4 block schedule. Sometimes called the semester block, the 4x4 is much like the schedule that college students follow. Four classes are taught in periods of approximately 90 minutes, and meet every day for one semester. At the beginning of the second semester, the student's schedule will change to accommodate four different classes. 

The 4x4 Block Schedule limits the focus of students to only four classes per semester as opposed to eight, so there are fewer homework assignment, quizzes, and tests. This allows for concentration on new topics and time for subject mastery.

SKINNY COURSES

Skinny courses are those courses that meet every day for the entire year, usually for 45 minutes.
