In
1987, a group of committed civic and business
leaders came together to form Partners in Education,
Richland County School District One's educational
foundation. Since then, the foundation has
been instrumental in several key initiatives,
including the establishment of South Carolina's
only Challenger Learning Center in Richland
One.The primary purpose of Partners in Education
is to support and enhance the quality of education
in Richland One and to help advance the district’s
mission.
Priority
projects for Partners in Education include:

|
Awarding
student scholarships, including The
Dr. John R. Stevenson Music Scholarship.
The scholarship, named for former
Richland One Superintendent Dr.
John R. Stevenson, is awarded annually
to a Richland One high-school senior
who plans to pursue post-secondary
study in music. |
 |
Sponsoring
an annual Academic All-Stars Recognition
Banquet to honor high school seniors
from throughout the district who
have achieved academic excellence.
