A DAY OFF FOR STUDENTS

Tuesday, November 7 is Election Day and a holiday for Richland One students. Classes will resume on Wednesday, November 8.


FOCUSING ON THE FUTURE

Richland One will hold its annual College & Post-Secondary Education Fair from 8:45 a.m. - 2 p.m. Thursday, November 9 on the concourse of the Carolina Coliseum. More than 2,000 Richland One high-school juniors and seniors will participate. Parents are also invited to attend.

Recruiters from colleges and universities in South Carolina and across the United States will be on hand to share information with students and their parents about the admissions process and requirements, scholarships and other financial assistance, etc.


SALUTING OUR VETERANS

On Friday, November 10, Richland One students and employees will join others across the country in paying tribute to the men and women who have served our nation through the military.

John P. Thomas Elementary School will hold a Veterans Day ceremony and program from 8-10 a.m. Special guests will include members of VFW Post 4262 and author Mamie Harkless. Activities will be held in front of the school and in the multipurpose room.

Also Friday, several Richland One marching bands will participate in the City of Columbia’s annual Veterans Day Parade down Main Street. The parade will begin at 11 a.m.
