LOWER RICHLAND WELCOMES COLLEGE FINANCIAL AID BUS TOUR SPONSORED BY THE SALLIE MAE FUND
Lower Richland High School is the next stop on the nationwide Sallie Mae Fund’s Paying for College Bus Tour. Representatives from the Sallie Mae Fund, a national non-profit organization, will be at Lower Richland On Wednesday, November 7, from 8 a.m.-12:45 p.m. to provide students with information on scholarships, grants and federal aid. Three lucky students attending the workshop will receive a $250 college scholarship.
The Sallie Mae Foundation, the SC Commission on Higher Education and Lower Richland High School are working together on this project to provide college financial aid information to as many students as possible. Research shows that most South Carolina high school students, especially those from low-income and minority families, won’t go to college because they aren’t aware of the financial aid available to them. The goal of the nationwide bus tour is to reverse that trend.
