Richland One Board of School Commissioners to Meet
The Richland One Board of School Commissioners holds its next regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, August 28 at 7:00 p.m. at Forest Heights Elementary, 2500 Blue Ridge Terrace. Board meeting agendas are posted online at www.richlandone.org ; click on the School Board link.

Columbia High Band Sponsors 2nd Annual March-a-thon
On Saturday, August 25 students in the Columbia High School band are setting aside their instruments and putting on their walking shoes to raise money to support the band program.

From 8:30 a.m. to noon, band members will march around the school track. Members of the Band of Gold hope sponsors will donate money for every lap they complete. Money raised by the march-a-thon will be used to help with various expenses including transportation, instrument repair, and materials for band shows.

For more details about sponsoring individual band members or making a donation, contact band director Michael McClain at 731-8970. Donations also can be mailed to the Columbia High School Booster Club, 1701 Westchester Drive, Columbia, SC 29210.
