Webber 100-Year Anniversary
Webber Elementary will celebrate its 100-year anniversary with music, great food and a century of fond memories. Alumni, students, parents and the community are invited to enjoy a weekend of fun that begins with a banquet and fashion show on Friday, May 18 at 7 p.m. Banquet tickets are $10.00 each, but other anniversary events are presented at no cost to the community. On Saturday, May 19, a community picnic will be held from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. and a gospel concert is planned for Sunday, May 20 at 3 p.m. All events will be held at Webber Elementary, which is located at 140 Webber School Road in Eastover.
Anyone interested in purchasing a Webber anniversary T-shirt or tickets to the banquet should contact Yvonne Hall at 353-4020 or by e-mail at yhall@richlandone.org.
Keenan’s Farewell Concert
On Saturday, May 19 at 7 p.m., the Keenan Singers will hold their farewell concert in the Keenan Theatre before the new Keenan High School opens this fall. This final curtain call also marks the 10th anniversary of the Keenan Singers. In honor of that milestone, Keenan alumni who performed with the Singers over the past 10 years have been invited to participate in the concert. The final concert will include gospel, contemporary and traditional music. Admission is $5.00.
High Schools Host Graduation Exercises for the Class of 2007
All Richland One high schools will conduct graduation ceremonies next week. On Sunday, May 20 the Richland One Middle College graduates its second class of seniors at 3 p.m. at the Koger Center for the Arts, 1051 Greene Street.
On Monday, May 21, the Olympia Learning Center will hold its commencement exercises at 6 p.m. in the school’s auditorium, 621 Bluff Road.
On Tuesday, May 22, seniors from four Richland One schools will graduate in ceremonies at the Carolina Coliseum: Columbia High at 8:00 a.m., C.A. Johnson Preparatory Academy at 10:30 a.m., Eau Claire at 1:00 p.m. and Dreher at 3:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, May 23, three high schools will host graduation exercises at the Carolina Coliseum: Keenan at 8:00 a.m., A.C. Flora at 10:30 a.m. and Lower Richland at 1:00 p.m.
Last Day of School
It’s time to say good-bye to another school year. The last day of school for Richland One students is Wednesday, May 23. (NOTE: The last day of school for students at Forest Heights Elementary, the district’s year-round school, is June 5.)
