Flora Students Celebrate Broadway Show Tunes
A.C. Flora High School students celebrate the music of Broadway in their upcoming production of Dancing Through Life on Broadway. Songs will be performed from such hit musicals as Wicked, Hairspray and Beauty and the Beast. The show will be held on Wednesday, May 9 at 7 p.m. in the Keenan Theatre at 3455 Pine Belt Road. There is no admission fee.
Columbia High School Singers Present a Night of ‘60s Music
For one night only, Columbia High School is bringing back the sweet sounds of the ‘60s. A musical production entitled The Blue Note Café: Encore will be held on Wednesday, May 9 at 7 p.m. in the school’s seminar room. You can sit back, relax and enjoy an Italian feast while grooving to the soul music of Motown, including such favorites as You Can’t Hurry Love, My Girl and My Cherie Amour. Everyone is encouraged to come dressed in ‘60s-style clothing to add to the atmosphere. Tickets cost $5.00 and can be purchased in advance by contacting Edith Stewart at 731-8975. Columbia High is located at 1701 Westchester Drive.
Celebration 2007
Richland One will honor its retirees and top employees at Celebration 2007, on Thursday, May 10 at 6:30 p.m. at Seawell’s, 1125 Rosewood Drive. The annual event recognizes Classified Employees of the Year, Teachers of the Year and Substitute Teachers of the Year from each Richland One school and employees who are retiring this year. The district-wide winner in each category will be announced at the banquet. Only honorees and their invited guests attend this annual employee favorite.
