* Heyward Hosts Plant and Flower Sale
Need some flowers for your garden? Gardening students at the Heyward Career and Technology Center will have a wide variety of plants, hanging baskets and flowers on sale April 30 - May 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Heyward greenhouse is located in the back of the school near the parking lot. * C.A. Johnson Preparatory Academy Hosts Community Health Summit
C.A. Johnson Preparatory Academy invites citizens in the neighborhoods surrounding the school to its Community Health Summit 2007, which will be held Monday, April 30 from 7:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the school gym. Neighbors, parents, students and faculty will be able to receive free health screenings and medical information. Interested in a career in the medical field? Information on health industry careers will also be available at the summit. The event is being held in conjunction with the USC School of Medicine. C.A. Johnson Preparatory Academy is located at 2219 Barhamville Road.

* Columbia High Students to hold Patriotic Rally
On Wednesday, May 2, Columbia High School will host an old-fashioned patriotic rally to show support for veterans and active military. From 9:30 a.m. – 10 a.m. expect to see a gym full of students waving flags and singing patriotic songs. Veterans from Post 4262 will be special guests at the event. Students whose parents or other family members are currently serving in the war will be acknowledged during the rally. Organizers hope the event will teach students about the importance of patriotism. Columbia High School is located at 1701 Westchester Drive.

* Spring Concert at Keenan
Keenan High School’s spring music concert has something for everyone. The classics, the Big Band sounds of the ’50s and ’60s, as well as contemporary tunes will be performed on Thursday, May 3 at 7 p.m. at the Keenan Theater, 3455 Pine Belt Road.

* Logan Elementary Yard Sale
Looking for a bargain? The Logan Elementary PTA invites all bargain hunters to its yard sale on Saturday, May 5, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the school. Anyone interested in reserving a table to sell their goods, should contact Lynn Wilson-Shiver at 463-4326. Six foot tables can be reserved for $15.00. Logan is located at 815 Elmwood Avenue.
