Columbia High Hosts Prom for Senior Citizens
The prom can be a blast at any age. Columbia High School invites all senior citizens in the Midlands to its 11th annual Senior Citizens Prom. This year’s theme is “Casino Royale.” The evening of dancing, games, food, entertainment and prizes will be held from 6-10 p.m. Saturday, March 31 at the Tri-City Leisure Center in West Columbia. Admission is free. The Columbia High Student Council hosts the event to help bridge the gap between teens and senior citizens.

Give and Take: 2007 One-Act Play Festival
Dreher High School invites everyone to come out and enjoy an evening of great comedy at Give and Take, its annual One-Act Play Festival. This year’s lineup includes four short comedies by a group of outstanding senior directors. New this year is a screening of original short films by Dreher students. Shows run April 3 - 5 at 7:00 p.m. in the Dreher auditorium. Tickets are $5.00 and are available at the door. As you can see from the play descriptions below, there’s something for everyone who loves to laugh.

- The Least Offensive Play in the Whole Darn World takes politically correctness to hilarious heights. This play "cleans up" the wording in famous plays by Shakespeare, Mamet and McNally. Can they pass the test of modern-day correctness?

- Hard Candy comically tests the integrity of job applicants eager to get a position at Banff Enterprises. Will they resort to bribery, nepotism or blackmail?

- The Actor’s Nightmare questions your grasp on reality. Is it real or just a dream?

- This Phone Will Explode examines how we communicate (or don’t) through the telephone with chatterboxes, obscene callers and phone phobias. It promises to have an explosive surprise.
