8th Annual Certified Teacher Job Fair
All certified teachers are invited to attend Richland One’s 8th Annual Certified Teacher Job Fair, Saturday, March 24 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., at the Olympia Learning Center, 621 Bluff Road. Application details are also available on Richland One’s website www.richlandone.org.


Board of School Commissioners Meeting
The Richland One Board of School Commissioners holds its next regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, March 27 at 7:00 p.m. at Burton-Pack Elementary, 111Garden Drive. Board meeting agendas are posted online at www.richlandone.org ; click on the School Board link.


International Day at A.C. Flora High School
On Thursday, March 29 A.C. Flora High School celebrates International Day with a parade of international flags, songs, dance and music. The festival includes a Mayfest-style fair with international foods and displays. Proceeds from the day-long event will be given to international charities, including the Darfur refugees and the Red Cross. Flora is located at 1 Falcon Drive.


Visit by State Superintendent of Education Jim Rex
State Superintendent of Education Jim Rex will be the special guest speaker for the Richland One Governmental Relations Committee meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 29 in the auditorium of the Olympia Learning Center, 621 Bluff Road. The meeting is open to anyone who would like to attend, but seating is limited.


Keenan High Dance Production Helps Women in Crisis
Keenan High School celebrates women, their issues and contributions to society during a production of Dear Diary on Thursday, March 29 at the Keenan Theatre. The curtain rises at 7 p.m. The event features dancers from the Richland One Middle and High School Honors Company. There is no admission fee, but donations will be accepted for Sistercare, a local charity that serves women in crisis. Keenan High School is located at 3455 Pine Belt Road.


Annual Volunteer Recognition Breakfast
Richland One hosts its 28th Annual Volunteer Recognition Breakfast on Thursday, March 29 from 8 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. at Seawell’s restaurant, 1125 Rosewood Drive. The official program begins at 8:30 a.m. “Volunteers inspire by example” is the theme of this year’s breakfast which will be emceed by WOLO-TV news anchor James Hill. The district’s Volunteers of the Year will be announced at the event.


The Bold and Beautiful Fashion Show
Heyward Career and Technology Center invites the community to enjoy an evening of fun and style at “The Bold and Beautiful” fashion show. Students hit the runway on Friday, March 30 at 6 p.m. in the school’s conference center. Jewelry and other accessories made by marketing and creative enterprise students will be auctioned during intermission. Admission is $5.00 for adults. Children 12 and under are admitted free of charge. Heyward is located at 3560 Lynhaven Drive.


Harlem Wizards Bring Basketball Theatrics, Tricks and Alley-oops to LR
Are you ready for some hoop action and family fun? The Harlem Wizards, a professional entertainment basketball team, will take on some Midlands players on Friday, March 30 at 7:00 p.m. at the Lower Richland High School gym, 2615 Lower Richland Boulevard. Advance tickets to this fund-raiser for Mill Creek Elementary are $8.00 for students and $10.00 for the general public. Tickets purchased at the event will cost an additional $2.00 each.
