Eau Claire High School Invites Community to Celebrate Career and Technology Education Week
Eau Claire High School invites students, parents and neighbors to attend its celebration of Career and Technology Education Week on Saturday, February 9 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the new school gym. There’s something for everyone. In addition to learning about the school’s career and technical training program, visitors can enjoy a free health fair, register to vote, get a safety check of their child’s car seat and participate in a walk-a-thon. Eau Claire is located at 4800 Monticello Road.
Richland One to Host 2008 Career Quest
Preparing for a career is an important step in a student’s life. On Tuesday, February 12 approximately 2,000 Richland One 10th-grade students will get a head start by attending the 2008 Career Quest where they will have the opportunity to talk face-to face with employees from more than 200 professions. Students will use that information to guide them in selecting courses that will be most helpful in preparing them for college and/or jobs after high school. Career Quest will be held from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on the concourse of the USC Carolina Coliseum, 701 Assembly Street.
Richland One Board of School Commissioners to Meet
The next meeting of the Richland One Board of School Commissioners will be Tuesday, February 12 at 7 p.m. at the Stevenson Administration Building, 1616 Richland Street. Board meeting agendas are posted on the district’s Web site at www.richlandone.org; click on the School Board link.
Free Laptops to be Distributed to C.A. Johnson Freshmen
Free laptop computers will be distributed to freshmen at C.A. Johnson Preparatory Academy next week. Parents or legal guardians must attend a special orientation in order for their child to receive the computer. Orientation for parents of female students will be held on Tuesday, February 12. The parents of male students will meet on Wednesday, February 13. Both meetings will be held from 5:30 -7:30 p.m. in the school media center. Parents should contact Lechel Pitts at 253-7092 if they need more information. C.A. Johnson is located at 2219 Barhamville Road.
