Beach Party Celebrates Reading
Get ready for a beach party to celebrate reading! On Monday, November 7th, students at South Kilbourne Elementary who have excelled in the Accelerated Reader Program will celebrate their achievements with a beach party. Students have been asked to bring their beach towels, sun shades and flip flops. The fun starts at 1:30 p.m. in the school gym. Local singer “Shyan” will sing a few songs and teachers plan to entertain the high achievers with a quick game of volleyball.

Board of School Commissioners
The Richland One Board of School Commissioners will hold their next meeting on Tuesday, November 8, at 7:00 p.m., at the Stevenson Administration Building, 1616 Richland Street.

Local Veterans Honored
All veterans are invited to join students at Forest Heights Elementary this coming Friday, November 11, for two Veteran’s Day celebrations. From 7:45 – 8:30 a.m. the entire school will gather for a special flag-raising ceremony which will be attended by local veterans. At 1:00 p.m. a group of veterans will share their experiences at a school assembly. Students have prepared essays and letters of thanks which will be read at both events. The public is invited to attend.
