‘Magic’ is coming to Richland One

Entrepreneur and NBA legend Earvin "Magic" Johnson will be in Richland One on Tuesday, Sept. 27, for the grand-opening celebration of the Magic Johnson Community Empowerment Center at Webber Elementary School in Eastover. The program will begin at 11 a.m. The community is invited to attend.

School board meeting
The Richland One Board of School Commissioners will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27 at Hyatt Park Elementary School. The meeting agenda is posted online at www.richlandone.org under the School Board link.

Health Awareness Fest 2005

John P. Thomas Elementary will hold its annual Health Awareness Fest from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29. The community event attracts hundreds of people every year. There will be free health screenings, exhibits, food and more. Entertainment will include a 7:30 p.m. performance by Manual Transmission, a group of students from the S.C. School for the Deaf and Blind. Jeanne Felder, R.N., school nurse at John P. Thomas, is the event organizer.
