DISTRICT GRADUATES EARN $40 MILLION+ IN SCHOLARSHIPS, FINANCIAL AID

Richland One is proud to announce that this year’s graduates have received more than $40 million in scholarship offers and other financial assistance, the highest total in the district’s history and a 26 percent increase over 2006.

The scholarship amount alone earned by the Class of 2007 topped $36.5 million, which was up 34 percent over the 2006 total.

Richland One awarded diplomas to more than 1,200 students from the district’s seven high schools during graduation ceremonies on May 22 and 23.

Each year our high-school guidance counselors track members of the past year’s graduating class. This year counselors were able to make contact with 97 percent of the district’s 2006 graduates. Of the 1,192 graduates who were located for the follow-up report, 76.1 percent are attending a post-secondary educational institution, making that a record-high post-secondary acceptance rate for Richland One.
