John P. Thomas to Hold Community Yard Sale
Looking for a bargain? John P. Thomas Elementary will be holding a community yard sale on Saturday, May 19 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the school’s parking lot. John P. Thomas is located at 6001 Weston Avenue.
Forest Heights Elementary Hosts Community Carnival
Forest Heights Elementary, Richland One’s year-round school, invites parents, students and the community to enjoy an evening of fun at Eagle Fest, its annual carnival, which will be held on Friday, May 25 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. There will be a lot to do at Eagle Fest including face painting, rides, an obstacle course and inflatable slide. After doing all of those activities, you’ll definitely need a snack. The school plans to have pizza, popcorn, hot dogs, candy apples and much more. Forest Heights is located at 2500 Blue Ridge Terrace.
Columbia High Band Sponsors March-a-thon
On Saturday, June 2 students in the Columbia High School band are putting aside their instruments and putting on their walking shoes to march around the school track to raise money to cover their band fees. Members of the Band of Gold are looking for sponsors to donate money for every lap they complete around the track. They will be walking the track from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
