Columbia High School Technology Students Excel
Richland One congratulates Columbia High School’s Career and Technology Education (CATE) students who recently participated in several state and national competitions.

Students involved in the Future Business Leaders of America program won two awards for their sharp math skills in a state competition held in North Charleston. Fidelia Obioha placed second in the Accounting I competition and L. Yates Martin placed fourth in Business Math. |

During its first statewide trade show competition, Columbia High’s virtual enterprise class placed third in the creative booth category and fifth in the video commercial category. Members of the virtual enterprise class include Alisha Charleman, Ashanti Dickerson, Caine Fonte, Brianne Lykes, Khiry Mullins, Jessica Perkins, Shanee Richardson, Danielle Rivers, Lakesha Washington and Teddius Williams. |

In late March, the Columbia High robotics team participated in the Palmetto Regional 2007 FIRST Robotics competition which involved 44 teams from around the nation. Columbia High placed 12th overall in the preliminaries and made it to the quarter finals. Congratulations to the members of this year’s team which include Bahamin Behipour, Curtis Dillitte, Miranda Duncan, Demetric Nelson, Justin Scott, Samuel Stevenson and Brandon Wiggins. Mark Kirlough is the team’s advisor. |
