A.C. Flora to Host Meeting for Parents of Minority Students

Parents want to give their children the best advice they can about preparing for the future and understanding the importance of educational opportunities. But for many parents, it may have been 10 or 20 years since they’ve been in high school and a lot’s changed since then.

The administration at A.C. Flora High School understands that situation and is offering parents a little help. On Sunday, March 18, A.C. Flora will host a “YOU NEED TO KNOW” minority-parent meeting at 4:00 p.m. in the school’s gymnasium. The meeting will provide parents of minority students with important background information they can use to guide their children in making better decisions about scheduling, participating in school programs and understanding the impact of student performance. It’s the school’s way of supporting parents in advising and encouraging students regarding their future and educational choices. Child care will be provided for parents with small children.

Parents who need more information should call the school at 738-7300. Media questions should be directed to the Richland One Office of Communications at 231-7504 or 231-7510.
