GIBBES DEDICATION CEREMONY TO BE HELD MARCH 18
In November of 2002, Richland One voters went to the polls and resoundingly approved a historic $381 million bond issue. That money was earmarked to renovate 12 middle and high schools, build four new schools and upgrade the district’s three stadiums.
The Richland One Board of School Commissioners and the Administration invite the community to celebrate the completion and opening of the new Gibbes Middle School. The new school will be dedicated during a special ceremony at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 18.
School and district staff, school board members, community members, school alumni and current students will share their thoughts on what the new school means to them, as well as to the district and the community. The program also will include student musical performances, a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony and tours of the new school.
Gibbes Middle School is located at 500 Summerlea Drive.
