Dreher Students To Say Good-bye to Their Theater
Before the Dreher High School theater is demolished this summer, students are giving it a theatrical tribute and send-off like you’ve never seen before! Theater arts students will perform an original play Our Stage: Much a Show About Something, on February 15 - 16 to honor all of the performances that have been staged at the theater for the past 52 years!
Our Stage is a tribute to all who have enjoyed being on, being around, and being with the stage over the years. This theatrical offering features short sketches, songs, and dances, plus senior Lindsay Lesesne’s award-winning original 10-minute play A Play about Thinking. The evening culminates with a condensed version of the hilarious satire Greater Tuna.
Show dates are February 15 and 16. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $5.00 at the door. Our Stage was written and directed by Dreher theater arts teacher Jeanette Arvay and features the Three-D Players, a troupe of theater students in the honors program.
"This show is really for our alumni," said Arvay. "We want as many Dreher alumni as possible to attend. This event is for everyone who loves Dreher’s past and looks forward to its future. It’s our way of looking forward to looking back."
The Dreher theater will be torn down this summer to make way for new construction and renovations at the school. For more information contact the Richland One Office of Communications at 231-7510 or 231-7504.
