NBA Legend 'Magic' Johnson Coming To Richland One Tuesday

Entrepreneur and former NBA star Earvin "Magic" Johnson is coming to Richland One this week for the grand-opening celebration of the Magic Johnson Community Empowerment Center at Webber Elementary in Eastover.

The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27. The general public is invited to attend.

The Magic Johnson Foundation, in partnership with Richland One, the S.C. Department of Commerce and Hope Worldwide SC, will launch the first of five Magic Johnson Community Empowerment Centers in the state at the Webber site. The centers will provide youths and adults with access to state-of-the-art computer technology and other educational resources. In addition, classes will be offered on topics including entrepreneurship, financial literacy and homeownership. The other South Carolina centers will be located in Orangeburg, Bennettsville, Greenwood and Lake City.
