Richland
One has two new Flagship Schools of Promise,
plus one renewal
Richland
One has two of the 10 schools in South Carolina
that have earned new Flagship Schools of
Promise status for 2004-05, as well as one
of the 17 statewide that have earned renewal
of their Flagship status.
A.C.
Moore Elementary and St. Andrews Middle Schools
are the latest additions to the list in Richland
One. Lewis Greenview Elementary earned its
renewal. This brings to nine the number of
Flagship Schools of Promise in the district.
The other schools are: Hopkins Middle; Sanders
Middle; Keenan High; Bradley Elementary;
Hand Middle; and Crayton Middle.
Flagship
Schools of Promise’s goal is to ensure
that students have access to the five fundamental
resources defined by the program: an ongoing
relationship with an adult; a safe place
to learn and grow; a healthy start; a marketable
skill; and an opportunity to give back to
society through service.
All
27 of this year’s schools will be recognized
at the Summer Leadership Institute, June
20-25, at Myrtle Beach.
