Richland One School Wins Big
at State Drama Festival
Richland One congratulates
Dreher High School’s drama department
and the Three-D Players on their first place
win at the SC International Thespian Society/Palmetto
Dramatic Association Festival which was held
at Converse College in late February. During
the event, high schools from across the state
produced and viewed one-act plays and individual
performances.
With their recent production of Arthur Miller’s
The Crucible, Dreher’s drama department
earned a superior rating and placed first in
the state in overall one-act competition. Individual
award winners are listed below:
* Drew Kennedy and Elizabeth May - Excellent
Actor Awards
* Allison Arvay and the Accusing Girls - Honorable
Mention Award
* Allison Arvay - $500 college scholarship
* Elizabeth May-- superior rating on make-up
design
Individual performances by Jaclyn Hall, Elizabeth
May and Lee Harrington earned them an invitation
to the national competition this summer.
Richland One proudly recognizes Dreher drama
director Jeanette Arvay and all the cast and
crew of The Crucible which includes the following
students: Stan Adkins, Ted Gwara, Charles Francis,
Roddey Smith, Daniel Stone, Joey White, Drew
Kennedy, Keith Hair, Allison Arvay, Jaclyn
Hall, Ali Collins, Elizabeth May, Laura Hubbard,
Kendal Titus, Dana Witkoski, Deanna Santoro,
and Mary Tilden.
Dreher students Rebecca Rogers, Caitlin Merck,
Lindsay Lesesne, Nick Adkins and Lee Harrington
also participated in the festival in other
venues. The school extends a special thanks
to parent Nancy White and student teacher Angel
Borths for their hard work and support throughout
the event.
