Richland One School Wins Top
Math Honors
At Crayton Middle School
one plus one equals success! Crayton took first-place
statewide in the American Mathematics Competition
8 (AMC 8), a national math exam recently taken
by 143,000 middle school students across the
country. Nationally, Crayton placed in the
top 1 percent and was the only South Carolina
school to be listed on the AMC 8 School Honor
Roll.
Nearly 500 Crayton students competed in the
AMC 8. Several brought home top honors.
- First-place state winners: Allison Day,

- USA Distinguished Honor Roll (scores in
the top 1 percent): Meredith Nix, Caroline
Cross and Walker Stinnette
- USA Honor Roll (scores in top 2-5 percent):
Catherine Wingard, Hardy Cate, Maria Piroli,
Ray-Kelle Preston, Mackenzie Sunday, J.
D. Elliott, Taylor Kirk, Alex Van Dine,
Angela Allsbrook, Rakesh Kumar, Richard
Lawson and Elizabeth Timmons.
- USA Student Merit Roll (6th grade or below
scoring in top 15 percent): Hardy Cate
Richland One congratulates

who has successfully coached many winning math
teams.
