Caughman Road Elementary Publication Garners National Award

For the second consecutive year, Caughman Road Elementary’s literary magazine, "The Comet," has won first-place honors in annual competition sponsored by the American Scholastic Press Association.

In addition, Caughman received the designation of first-place with special merit, an honor bestowed upon only two schools in the United States and Canada.
"We are especially pleased with the special merit designation, " said Bonnie Lutz, who served as editor."That is the highest honor that the association bestows."

In its tenth year of publication, "The Comet" contains writings by students from child development through fifth grade, as well as staff and faculty contributions.
