Satchel Ford students selected for honors choir 

Three Satchel Ford Elementary students, C.C. Arvay, Leigh Seale and Elizabeth Timmons, all fifth-graders, were named to the fifth annual S.C. Elementary Honors Choir.

The students prepared an audition tape to be considered for the choir. Once selected, they rehearsed after school twice a week in January and February, in addition to their own daily practice with a rehearsal tape.

The choir’s repertoire included two selections sung in Latin and one in Japanese, in addition to other challenging pieces.

Sponsored by the S.C. Music Educators Association, the choir provides elementary students the opportunity to stretch themselves musically beyond what they can experience in a school chorus.
