Richland
One presents third annual arts festival
Richland One’s Visual and Performing
Arts Department will present the third annual
Arts Festival: Art Works, with performances
on March 10 at the Carolina Coliseum.
The 2004 theme, “Art Works,” refers
to great works of art, as well as broader interpretations,
such as the discipline that artists have, the
many careers that are arts related, and the
positive economic impact that the arts have
on South Carolina.
There will be a morning performance for all
district fifth and eighth graders, and a free
performance at 7 p.m. for the general public.
More than 1,000 elementary, middle and high
school students perform in this event, including
the district’s Honors Bands, Choruses,
and Orchestras, Honors Dance ensembles and
Theatre troupes. A visual arts exhibit,
including artwork from every school in the
district, will be displayed on the Coliseum
concourse. Richland One Faculty Jazz and
Orchestra performances will be included in
the event, as well as other special guests,
live art happenings, and community art partnerships.
This year’s celebration of the arts
in education in Richland One will continue
to support the idea that in Richland One, ART
WORKS!
