Richland
One eighth graders take aim on the future
Richland One’s Career and Technology
Education (CATE) department is sponsoring the
district’s second annual Future Focus
Career Quest from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Feb. 10 at
the Ft. Jackson Community Activity Center.
This career fair, which all eighth-grade students
will attend, provides an opportunity for students
to get first-hand information about careers
so they can plan effectively for ninth-grade
and develop their individual four-year plans.
There are 16 career clusters, and students
will visit clusters based upon their expressed
interests. Guidance counselors have been discussing
the clusters with the students. After the career
quest, there will be a follow-up with students
and their parents.
More than 170 local businesspersons will answer
students’ career-related questions and
share career information.
This event is a partnership between Richland
One and Ft. Jackson.
